Sebangau National Park

One of the largest bog ecosystem in the world is located in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. More than 500,000 hectares of swampland comprising of a network of marshes, rivers, and waterways is dedicated as home to a megadiversity of unique migratory as well as endemic plants and animals.

The trip

The four-day trip was part of my objective to get images, videos, and interview recordings of key issues that the forest and wildlife conservation project I am working for is focusing at. This includes encroachments, wildlife conservation, forest zoning, forest community partnership, and forest management.

Getting There

It was still dark when I started the trip. Since I am taking Garuda Indonesia, the only flight available was a red-eye GA-550 flight at 5.30AM.

I live in Jakarta and I need to get to Palangkaraya, the capital of Central Kalimantan. The national park is just south to shouth-west over the city

Selalu kembali ke Jakarta Pusat.

Entah kenapa, saya baru ingat kalau selama ini, sejak pertama kali ngantor 20 tahun yang lalu, pekerjaan saya selalu ujung-ujungnya berkantor di sekitar Jakarta Pusat.
